Educatiol institutes alerted ahead of R-Day celebration

GUWAHATI, Jan 19:  Amidst fears of attacks by militants and strike call by insurgents in the Northeast including ULFA (I), security forces across the state were put on high alert in the run up to the Republic Day.  The educatiol institutes in the state have also alerted fearing possible militant’s attacks during the Republic Day celebration. The ADC of Kamrup district in a letter to principals and headmasters of the educatiol institutes in the district, has directed keep a close watch on school campuses and has asked to liaise with concerned police station to avoid any kind of untoward incident. The Deputy Director of Higher Education also asked the principals of the colleges of the state to keep a close watch on college campuses and to liaise with concerned police station to avoid any kind of untoward incident during the Republic Day celebration on January 26.
