GUWAHATI, Nov 10: "It is a bitter truth that the answer scripts of Education in the combined competitive examitions (Mains) being conducted by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC), 2009 were scrutinized by a history associate professor. The results were declared in 2013," alleged RTI Activist Okram Sushanta Singh in a press conference in Guwahati Press Club yesterday.
Singh said: "The fact came to our eyes when APSC submitted the affidavit to Gauhati High Court on January 10, 2014 on the instruction of the HC to submit the same against the case No. WP( C) No 4962/2013 petitioned by APSC candidate Kanja Lochan Pathak. We found a letter with the copy of affidavit where it was clearly mentioned by associate professor of Damdama College Radhika Chandra Das had scrutinized the copy of Education first paper of petitioner Pathak, and he is a lecturer of History, which is illegal by law. I, therefore, demand the government to start a CBI inquiry whether Das was selected by the Principal Controller of Examition of APSC to check the Education scripts of the candidate. I also request Das to clarify through the media in this regard within 20 days or we will file a case and take necessary actions against Das."
