Elderly woman shifted to old age home from Railway Station

GUWAHATI, May 22: An Army jawan yak Jiwan Singh Pokhriya today helped shift an elderly woman to Mothers Old Age Home in the city. The lady, yantara Manch, who is approximately around 60 years of age, has been living in the Railway station premises for the past three months.

The lady can speak and understand only English. Papers recovered from her possession showed that she hailed from Diphu in Karbi Anglong.

The question now arises as to why the Guwahati Railway officials did not take any action with the sad plight of the lady for the past three months.
