GUWAHATI, Dec 21: Raja, a two-and-half year old an elephant calf, died at Assam State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden here on Wednesday night. The calf was retrieved from Rani after he got separated from the pachyderm group a month and five days ago.  Raja was suffering from severe dysentery, and was uble to have solid food. Therefore, he was tendered Lactogen 2 in liquid form. He was given saline Wednesday afternoon, but the weak calf succumbed at night.
