Elephant tramples woman to death

GUWAHATI, Dec 25: An over 60-year-old woman, Saileni Chetry of Botaghuli in the Panjabari area in the city, was trampled to death by an elephant yesterday when she was cutting grass in areas adjacent to Amsang Reserve forest. With the woman not returning home, the local people went to search her and found her body lying. They also spotted footprints of elephants near the body.
