Erroneous paper: BSS demands compensation for candidates

GUWAHATI, Feb 23: The Bodo Sahitya Sabha, the apex Bodo literary body, today demanded the SEBA for reasoble compensation of marks for each candidate for erroneous questions in the HSLC question paper of general mathematics for Bodo medium students.

BSS general secretary Kamalakanta Mushahary in a memorandum submitted to SEBA chairman stated that reasoble compensation be made by awarding full marks to the Bodo medium students for the erroneous questions.   “For future measure, translators be served with specific with specific instructions that the textbooks be consulted while doing the work of translation,” BSS demanded in the memorandum. Expressing concern that many Bodo medium examinees would not be able to score good marks or might even fail in the General Mathematics paper in the ongoing HSLC examitions due to “faulty” language of the question paper, BSS general secretary Mushahary on Wednesday had alleged that the SEBA had set the question paper of General Mathematics in faulty Bodo language which created confusion among examinees.  “As a result, a large number of examinees had to leave several questions unswered,” he had said.  “We have received information and complaints that many examinees could not at all comprehend the language of the General Mathematics question paper. This is nothing but an expose of SEBA’s sheer irresponsibility in conducting an important public examition like HSLC,” Mushahary had said.
