Eviction drive at Jorabat

From our Correspondent
DIMORIA, Dec 6: A team of officials led by Sopur Revenue Circle Officer Dhrubajyoti Hazarika today evicted people on either side of NH-37 at Jorabat covering 300 metres today. The eviction drive was taken out to make the area encroachment free and boost the tural beauty there. Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner M Angamuthu had recently visited the area and asked the Revenue Circle Officer to carry eviction drive and the NHAI officials to clear the choked drains on either side of NH-37. Hazarika said: “There were prohibitory orders asking people not to throw garbage on the roadside drains. The order is violated and that badly affects the tural beauty in the area. This apart, the encroachers here run illegal activities like gambling, teer, adda of illicit liquor etc.” Hazarika further said that he would propose the DC to make children parks and gardens in the land that have been made eviction free today.
