Excise raids yield seizure of liquor

GUWAHATI, Jan 7: In a raid led by the Kamrup (M) Excise SP a huge quantity of IMFL and illicit liquor was seized from various dhabas at Topatoli, Khetri, Patorkuchi, Sopur etc., areas last night. Eighteen people were arrested in that connection. Some of the dhabas are Aatithya Dhaba, City Dhaba, Food Paradise, Orange Resort, Sher-e-Punjab, Hotel California, Atithi Bhojalaya and Das Hotel.

The department also conducted a raid at Rupgar, Bhangagarh, and Railway Gate number 2 at Lakhtokia yesterday. Fifty IMFL bottles and 1,500 litres of illicit liquor were seized at the raid.
