Exquisite flow of Art at Kalakshetra

GUWAHATI, Jan 21: The Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra Art Gallery, Guwahati exhibits the exquisite art works of intertiolly acclaimed artists from around the globe. The ongoing exhibition displayed the artistic explorations of the artists interpretations about life displayed through colors, a press release stated.

The Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra is abuzz with activities as people thronging in thousands to witness the works of some of the finest artists of contemporary art. The artists put forth an inextricably woven tapestry of their understanding of life and art itself.

Shefqet Avdush Emini, a renowned artist from Holland has been inspired by the perso of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika and has been awe stuck to see the Assamese maestro’s dedicated museum at the kalakshetra and decided to portray ‘the Bard’ on canvas. He said “the energy I felt while experiencing him has poured into feelings through my canvas.” He also decided not to title the portrait as he said that his perso cannot be described through words. The artist has many of his masterpieces in permanent exhibits in art galleries of Portugal and Brazil while Louver Art Gallery, Paris has 6 of his exhibits including art galleries of Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Spain and many more.

The ongoing event OFAIES, 2016 is organized by the Olympic Fine Arts Association (OFAA), Finland, in association with Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra with support of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Assam.
