'Extramarital affairs' leads to killing of youth

DIMORIA, Oct 13: A feud allegedly centering around extramarital affairs led to the killing of a youth at Ural Kachari Village near Sopur last night. The police arrested two persons in that connection last night, produced them in the court that sent them to judicial remand today.  

According to reports, one Hajuary used to frequent the house of one Prabin Das (35) for a long time and allegedly fell in love with the former's wife. When Prabin sniffed of the affair, he and his elder brother Chabin Das (42) asked Hajuary not to frequent their house anymore. Defying their request, Hajuary went to their house last night. Two brothers had a scuffle with Hajuary leading to his death. The duo then dragged the body to the Borkhat-Byrnihat road and left it there along with his bike (AS01BQ2259).

The local people spotted the body last night and informed the police of the matter. Soon ACP Harichandra Sarma and SI Ratneswar Das rushed to the sport and started inquiry. The police just followed a trail of blood that was left behind when the body was dragged to the road, and reached the house of Das. During interrogation, the truth came out.

A case (306/15) has been registered at Sopur police station in that connection.

Meanwhile, Jorabat police arrested Moinul Islam, the prime accused of the NRL cash looting incident that took place on August 24 near Jorabat, from Mukalmoa in lbari district last night. Around Rs 20 lakh was looted from two officials of NRL.
