Eye bank in Guwahati soon

GUWAHATI, Sept 12: On the occasion of the Eye Dotion Awareness Fortnight, Lions Club of Gauhati felicitated the family members of 40 eye donors at its Gauhati Lions Eye Hospital auditorium this evening.

Fifteen different organizations are participating in the eye dotion awareness programme with eminent persolities from different walks of life promoting the cause of eye dotion.

“Eye dotion awareness campaign is a permanent project of Lions Club of Gauhati and with the increase in awareness among the public, the club has also taken a decision to open an ‘Eye Bank’ in its Gauhati Lions Eye Hospital where the corneal blindness will be treated by replacing the damaged cornea by a healthy doted human cornea,” a Lions Club spokesperson said.
