This racket has maged to register huge portions of land in the area with forged documents. However, the concerned authorities, though aware of the racket’s activity, has turned a blind eye to it, which have now forced to public to doubt their integrity.

The activities of the racket came to light recently, following an RTI reply from the revenue department. The RTI was filed by one Hitesh Talukdar. It has also been noticed that most of the activities of these racket is limited to the Baruabari village under Panbari mauja of Sopur revenue circle.

In the RTI reply, it has come to light that a plot measuring 1 katha 10 lecha of Daag No 252 of Patta No. 1 under FS Grant has been registered in the me of one Dhiren Debth. However, there is no necessary order in this regard though the record of registration is available in No. 169 of the Jamabandi.

Through the RTI, it has come to light that, Dhiren Debth registered the land in his me, taking shelter of gross irregularity by using the Daag and Patta number of one Monibala Dey.

Similarly in the past too, 1 bigha plot of Daag 193 of Patta No 1 was registered in the me of one Bhada Lalung, 2 katha 10 lecha of Daag No 252 was registered in the me of one Motilal Chakraborty, 2 katha of Daag No 114 in the me of Monimohan Sen,  1 katha 5 lechas of Daag No 114 in the me of Dilip Roy and 10 lechas of Daag No 13 was registered in the me of Radha Madan Sewashram deceitfully. However, the concerned authorities didn’t initiated any action against them.

Alleging a nexus between the revenue officials and the racketeers, the local residents said that if the Circle officer of Sopur revenue circle fails to take action, they will soon approach the deputy commissioner with all the documents.
