Fake RTI activist in cop's net

DIMORIA, July 13: Sopur police on Thursday arrested one Kushal Goswami, a fake RTI activist, who allegedly made an attempt to steal important documents of from the office of Circle Officer of Sopur Revenue Circle.

The arrested accused is a resident of Malaybari in Dimoria area.

Sources said the youth was caught red handed by Circle Officer Dhrubajyoti Hazarika while trying to steal some important files from the table of a junior assistant of the office on Thursday.

Circle Officer Hazarika said that the arrested youth during the last few days often used to come to the office with an excuse of filing RTI application and asked unnecessary questions to the staffs of the office.

Sopur police arrested the youth on the basis of a complaint filed by the Circle Officer.

The arrested youth has been sent to judicial custody.
