Farewell to Baruah, Dwivedi new industry commissioner

GUWAHATI, July 30:  The Commissionerate of Industries and Commerce (CI&C) gave a warm farewell to the outgoing Commissioner Swapnil Baruah at its office in Bamunimaidam in Guwahati today.

In his farewell address, Swapnil Baruah said, “The bond of friendship developed will not end, but will continue to attain stronger ties in the coming years. The 20 months spent here, were amongst the most enjoyable events of my career. I look forward to continuing our close cooperation in the near future.”

Swapnil Baruah thanked the faithful services of each and every member of the Commissionerate in all areas which ebled Industries and Commerce to accomplish many milestones. He lauded the experience, initiative and ownership of the offices and staff that they possess towards CI&C.

Swapnil Baruah thanked all for their heartfelt wishes and called upon the people to create a conducive industrial environment to surge the state ahead.

Additiol Director Manjula Saikia Bhuyan, who presided over the meeting, said that the rich experience and knowledge gathered from Swapnil Baruah will help CI&C to attain newer heights. She felicitated Swapnil Baruah and presented him with a memento.

All the officers in unison recalled the sweet reminiscences with Swapnil Baruah and praised him as a versatile persolity in the field of art, culture and literature, especially his love towards Assam, its people and language.

Meanwhile, Dr K.K. Dwivedi took charge as the new Commissioner of Industries and Commerce. Dwivedi recalled his association with Swapnil Baruah when the former started his career as SDO (C), Pathsala and the latter being DC, Barpeta then. “Today, after 16 years, I feel proud and privileged to receive the baton from him,” Dr Dwivedi said.  “I wish Swapnil Baruah a healthy life ahead and a culturally fulfilling future,” Dwivedi added.

Filly he called upon the members of CI&C to build a strong support system and a dedicated team to deliver the best for Industries and Commerce.
