Fashion event showcases golden thread possibilities

GUWAHATI, Oct 20: A fashion show which showcased the possibilities of golden thread was organized by Pride-East Entertainment Private limited in the city today. The event was organized to promote the preservation of golden thread yielding cocoon Antherea Assamensis.

“The golden thread yielding cocoon is on the brink of extinction due to various reasons including climate change. It is the prime responsibility of the people of the state to strive for its preservation,” CMD of Pride-East Entertainment Ltd, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma said.

“The dreams that the weavers of Sualkuchi weave on the fabric is gradually becoming a style statement and a trend among the new generation. The Muga wear has every potentiality to be famous in the whole world,” Sharma added.

Showstopper of the evening Sol Chauhan walked the ramp along with other models wearing the Muga attires designed by Samant Chauhan. The show was directed by Ketan Bhatia.
