GUWAHATI, March 17: Alleging that Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Anjan Dutta is trying to give party candidature to one Dulu Ahmed who is allegedly involved in collection of ‘gunda tax’, the Forum of Conscious Citizen (FCC) on Thursday urged the Congress not to give him candidature. In a press conference in the city, FCC president Utpal Das said, “There are many pending cases against Dulu Ahmed in Panbazar and Bharalu police stations. If such a person who is accused of collecting ‘gunda tax’ becomes a MLA, what will they do for the society? Such people are a threat to democracy.” He also said that in the coming days, the FCC will bring out the ‘black chapters’ of Dulu Ahmed into public domain.
