Fil paper verification, NRC drafting underway

GUWAHATI, Dec 3: Fil verification of NRC documents and drafting of the citizenship document are going on in parallel in Kamrup (M) district.  

A total of 2,66,224 applicants applied for NRC in the district covering five revenue circles and 78 NSKs. Till date the district has completed verification of 7,16,225 documents issued by different authorities. As many as 281 teams have been formed under the district for house-to-house field verification currently underway.

Another activity currently underway is the writing of the fil draft. This draft NRC will consist of the mes of those who are eligible for inclusion in the draft along with their village mes and ward numbers in case of town/city. This activity is going on in the NRC Seva Kendras. For this task an additiol 1,100 people have been deputed from various departments to complete it within the stipulated time. All contractual and government employees are working on a war footing in order to adhere to the strict timeline set by the Supreme Court of lndia.
