Fil rolls published in Kamrup Metro

GUWAHATI, Nov 28: The Kamrup (M) district administration has released fil electoral rolls in areas in the district where panchayat poll is slated for early 2018.

The areas going to have panchayat poll in the district are Dimoria, Chandrapur, Rani (Part) AP area and ZP areas, and the fil electoral rolls were published for them on Tuesday. There are six zila parishad constituencies in the district. Public can view the rolls in block development offices, GP offices, AP offices, ZP offices and Kamrup(M) Deputy Commissioners office (election branch).

Panchayat poll in Assam was held last in 2013 when the Congress swept. With the emergence of the BJP in a strong way in Assam, the electoral battle is something to keep tabs on. The three coalition parties at Dispur – BJP, AGP and BPF – are going on their own. The Congress and the AIUDF have also started campaign.
