Fire mock drill in city

GUWAHATI, March 24: A ward-level mock drill was held at South Point School, Barsapara, Guwahati today. This is the third such drill in the city.
The mock drill specifically tested the preparedness and response activities of all stakeholders like the district administration, community, police, SDRF, NDRF, civil defence etc.
East Guwahati MLA Sidhartha Bhattacharya and West Guwahati MLA Ramendra rayan Kalita witnessed the entire mock drill. ASDMA State Project Coorditor Rajib Prakash Baruah and ADC Pulak Mahanta, and others were present.
The Fire and Emergency Services has taken the lead role in the drill and created a simulated situation of fire that broke out at South Point School. The school authority and community people have actively responded to the situation with the available resources. Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the fire and later NDRF has shown search and rescue techniques. 108 Services, Dhirenpara PHC and Hayat Hospital also participated in the drill and the mock patients were shifted to these hospitals where proper mass casualty magement was practiced.
