First intertiol meet on climate science opened

GUWAHATI, March 7: The first Intertiol Conference on climate Science was iugurated at Sudmersen Hall of Cotton College today, which will conclude on March 8. The conference was organized by Interdiscipliry Climate Research Centre (ICRC), along with Cotton College.

The conference is jointly hosted by ICRC Cotton College, CEAS of Kyoto University and ICEDS of Kagawa University of Japan and KKH State Open University. The theme of the conference is 'Frontiers of Climate Research to Enhance Cooperation of Climate Information and Services for Sustaible Development Planning in North East India'.

The convener of the conference Rahul Mahanta said the press today:  "The two-day conference will be a valuable opportunity to share ideas and proposals on two major themes, climate and sustaible development. It is aimed at discussing the best approach to tighten interconnectedness between climate science, services and policy in order to improve co-generation, quality, access and dissemition of climate information services necessary to improve climate-resilient development planning and the achievement of sustaible development goals in Northeast region. The conference comprises of five technical sessions with both invited and solicited papers from the delegates of various parts of the country and Japan."
