GUWAHATI, Sept 1: The Delhi Alumni Association of Assam (DAAA), a network of individuals who had studied in Delhi, has taken a few measures to mitigate the miseries of the flood-affected people in Assam. DAAA members visited Kaliabor, one of the worst flood-affected areas, to provide relief material in assistance with the gaon district administration. The goods distributed include school bags, water bottles, pencil boxes, geometry boxes, exercise books etc.
In addition, the DAAA and the Bordoisila Foundation from Delhi organized free medical camps in Kaliabor. Several specialists and doctors of Gurgaon’s renowned Artemis Hospital came to Kaliabor to offer free medical services to the flood-affected. Free medicines were also distributed in these camps along with consultation and medical advice on disease prevention. These doctors and specialists also participated in three-day-long camps in Morigaon, before offering their services in Koliabor, a press release said.
