Flood relief by NERIM

GUWAHATI, Sept 1: Flood relief camps were set up by the Department of Social Work of NERIM Group of Institutions for flood-affected families on August 30, 2017 at two villages – Jhaklabanda and Kaliabor in goan district.

The contribution was made by the staff (teaching and non-teaching) and students of NERIM Group of Institutions and also other institutions like the Smriti Academy of Basistha Chariali. The team was led by Mr. Bijoy Das, Assistant Professor of Social Work Department and Mr. Dipankar Dutta, Assistant Professor of Department of Computer Applications, along with a group of students of social work department of NERIM. The OC of Jhaklabanda police station also assisted the team in the camps. Basic needs such as rice, biscuits, soaps, water, detol, sanitary pads etc. were provided to about 300 flood-affected families, a press release said.
