The people of the hamlet were well aware cleanliness drive from time immemorial. On the day of Bat Puja the villagers clean roads and worship them. They piously feel that it’s improved connectivity that can ensure the development of an area. Kewotpara is a hamlet of fishermen on the outskirts of Guwahati. For them, Bat Puja has been percolating down for generations. On Monday they cleaned the roads in the morning and at noon they conducted a puja at the talimghar (community hall). They firmly believe that Bat Puja dispels ill omens from the hamlet and the entire area.
