GUWAHATI, April 30: Rashtriya Gramin Vikash Nidhi (RGVN) held a two-day exposure-cum-hands on practical training on livelihood activities at Food and Nutrition Board at Chenikuthi in the city on April 26-27. As many as 32 members of 17 self-help groups from Guwahati took part in the programme. The training programme was organized under the DAY-NULM-Assam State Urban Livelihood Mission.  Participants were taught preservation of fruits and vegetables, their processing as pickles, chutneys, squash, jam, jellies, sauces etc. Food and Nutrition Board demonstration officer Ishita Adhikari Pathak urged the participants to take up food preservation and processing as a major livelihood activity by preparing home-based products and marketing them in groups. RGVN assistant director Jaideep Das and others were also present at the programme.
