Speaking to this reporter, Food alyst of State Public Health Laboratory Anupam Gogoi said, “It’s good news for the people of the entire region that a sum of Rs. 8.05 crore has been sanctioned for the development of the food-testing laboratory of the region.” “This has been done in order to strengthen the food testing laboratory further. We’ll now have upgraded and sophisticated instruments like ICPMS, LCMSSMSS, and GCMSSMSS in the laboratory. These superior instruments will help us in heavy metal alysis, detecting pesticide residues and drug residues and the like,” Gogoi added. Gogoi further said that they would also have the upgraded microbiology laboratory. Civil, electrical and renovation of the laboratory building will also be done in the same project, he said.
