Former principal commits suicide

GUWAHATI, Feb 21: A 69-year-old former principal (in-charge) committed suicide at Mathgharia under Noonmati police of the city. Police sources said Kamalakanta Kalita, former in-charge principal of Guwahati College, committed suicide by hanging at his residence today. Kailta was suffering from cancer for the last few years and came back home on last Thursday from hospital after treatment. Sarma was associated with various local organizations of the city. He was the founder president of Mathgharia branch of Axam Xahitya Xabha and Sachetan garik Samaj.
