Free Assam from Bangladeshis: UMDCA

BY OUR STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, Sept 14: We will give our blood for Assam, but will not let any illegal foreigners live here. This has been stated by the United Muslim Development Council of Assam (UMDCA) on Monday. The organization has also appealed to all to fight united against all illegal immigrants, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.

“Modi promised during the campaigning of 2014 general elections that all Bangladeshis will have to leave Assam after May 16. But after coming to power, he made a complete U-turn, and now he is giving a red carpet welcome to Bangladeshis,” Nekib Iman Saikia, president of UMDCA, said.

He also said that even BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said on November 22 last that action will be soon taken against the illegal immigrants, but the action they took is not the one which the people of Assam are expecting. He also accused Prime Minister rendra Modi of trying to bring in foreigners into India from Pakistan and Bangladesh. Appealing to all the indigenous organizations to unite against the illegal foreigners and the organizations and political parties that are supporting them, the UMDCA said that for the sake of the motherland now they all will have to stand under one roof.

It also slammed the recent slogan shouting against the Assamese by a section of people, and said that those who are speaking in support of illegal foreigners have now right to shout slogans in Assam.
