GUWAHATI, March 1: The All Asom Goria Yuva Chatra Parishad (AAGYCP) today demanded of the Assam Government to take steps to free all Wakf Board land under encroachment  of businessmen in the state. The Parishad also demanded of the government  to execute the Central Wakf Board Amendment Act, 2013 in the state. It threatened that if its demands are not met, it will go for agitation.

The Parisahd said that the indigenous Muslims (Gorias) of the state are deceived by the Tarun Gogoi-led Congress government in the state. “The Gorias have no representation in the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha, and as such the formation of a Goria  Development Council for the development of the community is a must,” the Parishad said.
