Ga Shilpi Bota for BN Dutta

GUWAHATI, Nov 7: The All Assam Unyan Parishad (AAUP) is going to give away the Gashilpi Bota, 2016 to Dr. Birendra th Dutta on a function to be held on November 9 on the occasion of the foundation day of the Parishad that entered the 11th year. The Parishad gives away the award in memory of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.

The award carries Rs 31,000, a citation, a seleng chador, a jaapi and a gamosa. Arju award winner sportsman Shiva thapa, Sangeet tak Akademi Award winner Saradi Saikia and Sahitya Akademi Award winner Kula Saikia will also be felicitated by the Parishad on the occasion.

The foundation day of the Parishad will be celebrated with a function on November 9 at Veteriry College playground at Khapara in the city.
