The residents of Games Village at Lalmati in the city today came out with the decision of not using any crackers in this Diwali. They also decided to get their campus and households lit with earthen lamps. On October 29 the children of Games Village will go for a plantation drive in their campus. They will also take out rally in the city so as to popularise the use of earthen lamps and non-use of crackers in the Diwali. Three children will be awarded for scripting the best slogans against crackers and in favour of earthen lamps. This apart, all participants in the programme will also be given a consolation prize each. The residents of the village will also remember the victims of the October 30 serial blasts by lighting earthen lamps in the campus. Such campaigns are set to boost the prospects of ceramics (pottery), in indigenous industry in the State.
