Geetikavi Parvati Prasad Baruva Sangeet contest

Guwahati, May 20: The Geetikavi Parvati Prasad Baruva Memorial Trust is holding its annual singing contest ‘Sangeet Pratijogita’ of the poet’s songs on May 31 at the Kaklal Barua Hall of the Assam State Museum in Guwahati as part of the celebrations of Joki Mel. The competition will have two categories: Group A (Under fourteen) and Group B (Fourteen years and above). There will be three cash prizes of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 in each category. Interested participants have been requested to be present at the desigted venue at 10 a.m. on that day and contact nd Banerjee to register their mes. Participants of Group A will be required to provide age proof, Dr. Paromita Das, Member of the Parvati Prasad Baruva Memorial Trust, said in a press communiqué.
