Generic medicines in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Jan 17: Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadha Kendra’s quality medicines at low cost are now available in a Guwahati-based hospital. The hospital sought the license for its pharmacy for generic medicines and got it. Generic medicines are very helpful for poor people who cannot afford to buy costly ones.

Talking to newsmen in Guwahati on Wednesday, Dr. Tridib Baruah said: “We’ve requested practitioners in the city to prescribe generic medicines to the poor if possible. Our pharmacy is two-month old and the response of bright. Many medicines, including antibiotics, painkillers, medicines for blood pressure, cardiac diseases, fever, vitamins, algesic medicines etc., are available in our pharmacy.”
