GMA to met new government with list of do's and don'ts

GUWAHATI, June 4: At its meeting held in the city recently, Guwahati Magement Association (GMA) has decided to meet the new government at Dispur and hand over a paper on what to do and what not to do. The meeting held at Pensioners’ Bhawan at Chandmari in the city, according to a press release, was presided over by former GMA president DN Barua. The meeting deliberated on ‘what should be the role of GMA’ in the just changed working environment in Assam to support the new government to make it successful in meeting the expectations of the people.  Distinguished economist Dr. Amiya Kumar Sarma invited to spoke on ‘ways to end poverty’. According to the release, non-profit organization G has taken recourse to commercialize some of its activities within the purview of magement to maintain a perfect equilibrium between its profit and non-profit character. Dr. Sarma suggested GMA to take to CSR projects to make the corporate sector aware of taking the poor with them. Stating that about 30 per cent Indians still lie below the poverty line, he said that poverty cannot be elimited without holistic action in the field.
