GMC asks ad agencies to display permission number on hoarding

 GUWAHATI, April 1: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has ordered the private advertising agencies of the city to display their permission number along with the me of the agency on the hoarding, glow-sign, kiosk board within 15 days.

In a notification issued to the advertising agencies, GMC Commissioner S Viswathan said , "Most of the erected hoardings in various locations and buildings in the city are displayed without me of the respective advertising agency nor any permission details is inscribed on it. Further, it is also observed that many advertising agencies erect hoarding structures with display without obtaining permission from GMC and on detection only they approach for permission."

The GMC Commissioner said that all these matters are being examined and the advertising agencies within the city have been asked to refrain themselves from these activities and have been asked to display their permission number along with me of the agency on the hoarding, glow-sign, kiosk board. He also said that the matter would be taken very seriously by GMC and the hoarding found without details would be treated as uuthorized and would be removed without any further notice and assigning any reason.
