GOA Food Festival underway in city

GUWAHATI, Nov 14: Goa! The me evokes the picture of blue sandy beaches, rolling waves, golden sunshine, lazy days and awesome lip-smacking coastal food! That in essence sums up a ‘SUSEGAAD’ Goan holiday!

The Goan shore line would be difficult to replicate but the Vivanta by Taj, Guwahati, is pleased to present this exciting coastal cuisine to tantalize the taste buds of its Guwahati and Northeast patrons for 10 days – with the Goan food festival – from November 10 to 19, 2017.

Chef Igtius Peter Mario Ferndes has brought his experience from the Taj Fort Aguada Beach Resort, Goa to curate this festival in Guwahati.

The traditiol base of Goan food is coconut, kokum and a generous sprinkling of ‘garam masalas’ such as peppercorn, cardamom, cinmon etc. Each of the dishes reflects the locally available ingredients which give its unique flavour to the dish to be savoured. The flavours of these ingredients have created unique dishes such as Xacuti, Vindaloo, Goan Prawn curry, Pork Roast, Goan sausages (Chirozo), Mutton stew which have become the trademarks of Goa! All these mouth-watering dishes and some more like Kismur (a mixture of dry prawns and coconut), Somrachi curry, Kaldine curry, Pilaf (rice) and some melt in the mouth desserts like Bibinca, Dodol, Albela and more are awaiting to tickle your taste buds.

Vivanta by Taj, Guwahati, is delighted to be able to reproduce and present these recipes – some well-known some rare – but each uniquely tasty!

Come join us for a lip smacking rideof Goan cuisine with Chef Igtius Peter Mario Ferndes.
