Gogoi and APCC continue their Modi bashing

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Feb 6: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi turns Prime Minister rendra Modi basher again, so does the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).

In a statement issued to the press today, Gogoi said: “Modi has totally failed to meet the assurances he gave to the people of Assam before the last Lok Sabha elections. In order to hush up his own failure, he is out to prick holes in other’s works. He is the first Prime Minister of India, who, being failed to perform, opts to blame it on others. I haven’t seen any such Prime Minister before. In one hand, he speaks ‘on make in India’, and on the other, he has suspended the North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (NEIIPP). If the Northeast doesn’t develop, how come the country develop as a whole? Apart from suspending the NEIIPP, the Modi government has even stripped Assam and other States of the region of their special status which they were enjoying. Besides not releasing funds for floods in the State, the Centre has changed the funding pattern to the State on a number of Centrally-sponsored projects and schemes. Despite repeated pleas on such issues, both Modi and his government are mum.”

Meanwhile, in another statement issued to the press today, APCC vice president Ripun Bora reacted to the Prime Minister’s statement yesterday that it was ‘Sarbanda’ who could give ‘anda’ (happiness) to all in Assam, and said: “Achche did was Modi’s  lollipop before 2014 Lok Sabha election. His lollipop for the 2016 Assembly elections in Assam is ‘Sarbanda’. The people of Assam know well how a minister, who has been removed from the skill development portfolio for his inefficiency by none other than Modi, can give happiness to the people of Assam?”
