Gogoi directs CS to study on social sector

GUWAHATI, July 6: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has constituted a committee headed by Chief Secretary VK Piparsenia to study the report of the latest socio-economic and caste census in Assam that touches on key parameters like homeless, landless, unemployment, irrigation, drinking water, sanitation etc. The Chief Minister, while asking the Chief Secretary to make an in-depth study of the census report, said that necessary steps should be taken to fill up the gaps and to improve upon the parameters through a new comprehensive scheme.  The committee that comprises the Planning and Development Department broadly encompasses the social sector. The Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to submit a report soon.
