Gogoi has no right to flay BJP on NRC update

GUWAHATI, Dec 6: The BJP Assam Pradesh has said that former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi does not any right to criticize the BJP-led government at Dispur on NRC update. In a statement issued to the press today, BJP spokespersons Rupam Goswami and Subhas Dutta said that the conspiracy hatched by the Congress during the past 15-year rule in the State is known to all. “Gogoi left no stone unturned to make the NRC erroneous. On the pretext of the Barpeta incident while implementing NRC pilot project, the Gogoi government did hatch a conspiracy to delay the NRC update. The Dr. Bhumidhar Barman-led Cabinet sub-committee was formed only to make Bangladeshis staying illegally in the State voting rights so as to keep Bangladeshi vote bank intact. The Cabinet sub-committee did allow panchayat secretaries to issue documents that are required for NRC update. A former Chief Minister who went to such an extent to stall NRC update doesn’t have any right to criticize the BJP government on NRC works,” the statement said.
