Gogoi opens surgical institute

GUWAHATI, May 9: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi iugurated Swagat Super Speciality Surgical Institute at Guwahati at a function held at ITA Machkhoaw today.
Speaking on the occasion, Gogoi hailed the efforts of the hospital authority to give the state-of-the-art health care facilities in the field of surgery to the people of the region. Gogoi, considering the proliferation of technology in the healthcare delivery system, hoped that the new hospital would cater to the needs of the patients of this region with cutting-edge technology in surgery and allied healthcare sectors. He also said that the use of latest technology will ease the process of diagnosis, treatment and aftercare which will immensely benefit the people. State Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. zrul Islam lauded the hospital authority for using world class technology in its treatment procedures. He also said that the State Government is all set to iugurate a state-of-the-art Cancer Hospital on the GMCH premises in two to three months where technology would be the driving force.  Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Sanjeeva Kumar, Chairman of the Swagat Super speciality Surgical Institute Dr. Subhash Khan also spoke on the occasion.
