GUWAHATI, Dec 21: Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has asked Union Home Minister Rajth Singh if justice has been done to him or not by withdrawing his CAPF (NSG) security cover. In a missive sent to the Union Home Minister yesterday, Gogoi  rued the fact that no other political leaders of his stature in the country, who had been provided CAPF (NSG) cover, were suddenly withdrawn NSG cover just after seven months of demitting office. “Even in my State former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta is still having CAPF (NSG) cover though he demitted his office 15 years back,” he said, and added: “Normally had such a decision been taken on a leader of another state, there would have been a hue and cry…I do feel that the decision of withdrawal of CAPF (NSG) cover has not been taken on merit, but on political reasons, which is discrimitory. Besides, I am told that the Centre decided the matter suo motto without any feedback from the intelligence department of the State Government.”
