Gogoi retorts Dispur, Mamata

GUWAHATI, Jan 10: Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has said that development is very slow in the State and the presentation is only giving new mes to the previous schemes so as to show them as theirs.  Talking to newsmen in Guwahati today, Gogoi said that this is a government that runs only on advertisements. “The people of the State voted the BJP for pleasure, but now only ministers are taking pleasure. In the me of Global Investors’ Summit the road show being conducted by ministers, including the Chief Minister, within India and abroad have no purpose to serve. Assam needs to do a lot if it has to lure investors,” he said, and added: “The RSS has polluted the social ambience here by dividing people on religious lines.” On NRC, he attacked its Coorditor Prateek Hajela and said: “Delete mes of Bangladeshis. However, first part draft failed to include even mes of indigenous people.” Retorting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Gogoi said: “If West Bengal shoulders the burden of foreigners, we’re here to shoulder the responsibility on Assamese and Indians.”
