Gogoi should retire from politics: Ajmal

 By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, OCT 21:  A fuming AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal has said that former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi needs to be relieved from politics, and that he is going to take up the matter with AICC president Sonia Gandhi soon.
At a press meet in Guwahati on Friday, Gogoi was on record saying that ‘Ajmal is the younger brother of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, and that the AIUDF is a commul party’.
Reacting to the statement from Gogoi, AIUDF sources quoted Ajmal to have said on Saturday: “If I’m the younger brother of Bhagawat, Gogoi is his elder brother. While tagging the AIUDF as a commul party, it’s imperative on the part of Gogoi to recall that his 15-year-long regime was marred by commul violence, be it in BTAD, RHAC, Karbi Anglong, NC Hills and the like in the State. He’s is a frustrated leader after 15-year-long rule as the Chief Minister of the State. Out of frustration, he makes adverse political statements every now and then. He needs retirement. We’re going to move AICC president Sonia Gandhi to make her relieve Gogoi from politics.”
