Goswami briefs on earth & solar system

GUWAHATI, March 28: Renowned scientist Padmashri Dr. Jitendra th Goswami briefed on the origin and evolution of solar system in Gauhati University on Wednesday.  The Gauhati University Teachers’ Association (GUTA) organized its annual lecture on ‘The Origin and Early Evolution of Solar System’ in the BKB auditorium of the University. 

As the chief guest at the lecture, Padmashri Dr. Jitendra th Goswami he said: “Gravitatiol collapse of an interstellar molecular gas cloud led to the formation of the proto-sun surrounded by a rotating gas and dust disk. A stellar event most probably triggered the cloud collapse”. The programme, according to a press release, began with GUTA president Dr. Archa Sharma felicitating the speaker. Research scholars and students from various institutes attended the lecture. There was also a question answer round with the audience.
