Governor, CM condole death of Dasmunsi

GUWAHATI, Nov 20: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal condoled the death of former Union Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi. Dasmunsi breathed his last on Monday. 

In a condolence message Prof. Mukhi said, “Grieved to hear the demise of Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi. A towering persolity, a political figure and a football enthusiast, his death is an irreparable loss to society”. 
Prof. Mukhi also said that Dasmunshi, in his long public life, was part of several important political and administrative breakthroughs and he took an important role to popularize football in the country. His absence will be felt by the posterity. 
In another message, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal mourned the demise of former Union Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi. Sonowal said that the death of Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi is a great loss to society who served the country in various capacities. He was a great political leader and football administrator who took football altogether to a different level. His death is an irreparable loss and would create a void in the country which would be hard to be filled, he said.  The Chief Minister also sympathised with the bereaved family members and wished that let the God be with the bereaved family at this difficult time. He also prayed to the Almighty for eterl peace to the departed soul.
State Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary has also deeply condoled the demise of former Union Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi. In a condolence statement,  Patowary recalled his great leadership qualities in the political field and his notable work to popularize football in the country. ‘His political and administrative qualities will be remembered by all,’ said Patowary.
