Governor, CM greet idu

 GUWAHATI, Aug 5: Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit and Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal congratulated Vice-President elect M Venkaiah idu on his victory on Saturday. Purohit said, “Election of M Venkaiah idu to the post of the Vice President will augur well as he brings years of experience of public life along with him and is well respected across all political spectrum.”  Sonowal congratulated Vice President elect and hoped that the country would immensely benefit from idu’s vast experience of public life and in-depth knowledge of parliamentary rules and regulations. Sonowal stated that the State and NE region would hope to find a strong voice in idu for highlighting the issues of the region at wider platform.  Sonowal stated that the Vice President elect, being the chairperson of Rajya Sabha, would be able to discharge his duties with aplomb as being a fourth term Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan, Venkaiah idu has a long experience of the Upper House.
