GUWAHATI, July 29: In view of the large-scale damage caused by the recent waves of flood in the State, Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit contributed his one month salary to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in aid to the flood-affected people.

It may be noted that this year two waves of flood in the State have already affected more that 25 lakh people from 29 districts prompting the State administration to set up 1098 relief camps and distribution centres. Though the current wave of flood has receded, yet six districts are reeling under flood and more than 2,000 people are still in relief camps.
