GUWAHATI, June 16: Governor P B Acharya felicitated the top 10 position holders of HSLC Exam, 2016 at a felicitation function held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhawan here today.
The Governor while addressing the function said that the mantra of the day should be “achievers should be givers”.
Governor Acharya said that seeing the young students reminds him of the day he passed out his matriculation exams from a small village in Kartaka.
He lauded the achievement made by the students and calls upon them to be empowered by education with skill.
“As India has lot of potential, the young generations are the agents to bring progress to the tion,” Acharya said.
The students were felicitated with a traditiol gamocha, appreciation letter, a book of some great persolity along with a pen. The Principal/ Head of the institutes were also felicitated with a gamocha and a certificate.
At the beginning of the felicitation function, the welcome address was delivered by Ajay Tiwari, Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor.
A short speech by the top three students was also delivered during the function. This is the second year the felicitation programme has taken place at Raj Bhawan which was started mainly due to the initiative taken by the Governor.
The top three position holders of Assam High Madrassa exam 2016 were also felicitated.
