Governor meets business delegation from Jorhat

GUWAHATI, August 26: “Society can progress when there is peaceful coexistence of people of all communities and they inter-mingle with each other and accept one another with heart and soul,” observed Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit at a meeting with business delegations from Jorhat at Raj Bhawan this evening.

The Governor said, “Business climate in Assam is most conducive for the business communities to invest in the State. Tourism in Assam has unlimited potential and it presents numerous opportunities for investment to make the State a tourism hotspot.” Any investment in the tourism sector would generate employment avenues.

The Governor added that the right to life and property is a constitutiol guarantee. It is the duty of the government to maintain law and order and provide safety and security to all its citizens irrespective of caste, creed, religion and language, and all can stay together to make Indian Union truly a perfect entity of ‘unity in diversity’. The Governor asked the business delegation and the representatives of the Chamber of Commerce to create awareness in the State so that the people at large can use the schemes for their welfare.   Lauding the Chief Minister, Sarbanda Sonowal, the Governor said that under his dymic leadership the State will march ahead and script an era of development for all. He also sought cooperation from all sections of the society to help the government bring about much desired development in the State.
