Governor on importance of birds

GUWAHATI, July 2: Assam Governor Padmabha Balakrish Acharya has conveyed his message on World Bird Day which is being observed on July 3.
In his message, the Governor said, “I am happy to learn that World Bird Day is being celebrated on July 3, 2016. Birds are most important living beings that are holding the earth together. Their survival and growth are essential to our bio-diversity and the preservation of the ecology. We must remember that the world cannot survive without birds and animals. Their extinction will mean the end of the world and human existence. We must let all birds and animals live and grow. Wanton destruction of birds or killing them for sport must be stopped. Just as we have the right to live, they too have the right to live."
