GUWAHATI, July 21: Governor PB Acharya paid rich tribute to Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah, the architect of modern Assam, on the occasion of his 39th death anniversary. Governor in a statement termed RG Baruah as a 'visiory' and 'selfless' worker who contributed immensely in all spheres of public life. He also said "RG Baruah had farsighted vision of democracy and by starting The Assam Tribune group of newspapers way back in 1939 he dreamt of making the democracy strong by using the press which is the fourth pillar of democracy". He further said that late Baruah was instrumental in realizing the educatiol needs of the Assamese people. His contributions to the people of Assam will be remembered by posterity. The Governor also called upon to imbibe inspirations from Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah's work-culture and also to pass on his rich legacy to the future generations.
